ProfitPulse — Shopify Profit Tracking App

1. Introduction

ProfitPulse is a Shopify embedded app that tracks profit per order. It is operated by Page Blank (pageblank.co.uk), based in London, United Kingdom.

This privacy policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how we keep it safe. We've written it in plain English so it's easy to understand.

2. Data We Collect

When you install and use ProfitPulse, we collect the following:

Store information (via Shopify OAuth)

  • Shopify store name and domain
  • Store owner email address

Cost of goods (entered by you)

  • Product cost of goods sold (COGS) that you enter manually into the app

Order data (via Shopify Admin API)

  • Order ID, revenue, and transaction fees

We do NOT collect end-customer personal data. No customer names, email addresses, or shipping addresses are accessed or stored by ProfitPulse.

3. How We Use Your Data

We use the data listed above for one purpose: to calculate profit per order and display it in your ProfitPulse dashboard.

  • Your data is never sold to anyone.
  • Your data is never shared with third parties for their own use.
  • Your data is never used for marketing or advertising.

4. Data Storage & Security

  • All data is stored in a secured PostgreSQL database.
  • Access is restricted to authenticated Shopify merchants via session tokens — only you can see your data.
  • All connections use HTTPS encryption.

5. Data Retention

Your data is retained for as long as ProfitPulse is installed on your Shopify store.

If you uninstall the app, all of your merchant data is permanently deleted within 30 days.

6. GDPR Compliance

Under UK and EU data protection law:

  • You (the Shopify merchant) are the data controller.
  • Page Blank acts as a data processor on your behalf.

You have the right to:

  • Request a full export of your data.
  • Request deletion of your data at any time.

7. Third-Party Services

ProfitPulse integrates with:

  • Shopify — for authentication, store data, and order data via the Shopify Admin API.

We do not use any other third-party analytics, tracking, or advertising services within the app.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "last updated" date. Continued use of ProfitPulse after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
